🍫Good Snack Bad Snack🍫⠀ ⠀⠀ I love doing these - they always bring a stream of people in the DM who never read the caption - "you seriously comparing a Snickers to nuts that HAVE HEALTHY FATS?!?!". So without further ado, let's go nuts.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Snacks have always been a sticking point for me - wanting something tasty between meals but being "afraid" of ruining my macros for the day with one "treat". That's when we all fall into the trap of the "healthy snacks". You know the ones - they are the healthy alternative because the label says so 🤷⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ One such example is the dark chocolate covered peanut. So for the sake of comparison - let's line it up with the humble snickers (because chocolate and nuts ). And what do we see? Well overall not a huge difference between the 2, give or take some slight differences on protein & fat. ⠀⠀ ⠀ The biggest (and in my mind, the most important ) difference here is that one is the snack you wanted, and the other is a substitute. Having the nuts you'll have pretty much the same calories and macros yet didn't actually have what you wanted. So being "bad" and having the "unhealthy" snack would have left you in pretty much the same place with your daily intake - except your craving was satisfied. You eat the nuts but you're still thinking about the snickers. Eat the snickers and you're a happy camper.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ We need to stop thinking of food as good or bad, and rather what do we want and how does it fit. Is there a nutritional benefit to the nuts instead of the snickers? Sure. FLEXIBLE DIETING - Eat foods you enjoy AND see results.. ✅ 🥘 🍓 - ‘Flexible dieting’ essentially allows you to eat what you like as long as it fits within your macro (fat, protein, carbs ) and calorie targets. It gives you total control over your food selection and allows you to eat foods that you enjoy. This approach can be useful if you have a busy lifestyle and need to eat on the go, if you find adhering to a strict meal plan difficult or if you just enjoy eating good food 😋 So - how do you set up a flexible diet plan that aligns with your goals? 👇🏻 - ➡️ WORK OUT YOUR TOTAL DAILY CALORIE EXPENDITURE. your goal is to lose weight then ensure that what you eat adds up to less than your daily total calorie expenditure (calorie deficit ), if your goal is to gain weight then make sure what you eat adds up to more (calorie surplus ). - ➡️ WORK OUT YOUR MACRONUTRIENT TARGETS. You’ll need to work out how many carbs, fats and proteins you’re going to eat. When flexible dieting I’ll almost always keep my protein around the same - 2x body weight in kg (will vary slightly whether I’m cutting or bulking ) and I’ll allow my fats and carbs to vary - however I’ll still make sure that what I eat adds up to my calorie target. - ➡️ DOWNLOAD A FOOD TRACKING APP. When you’re eating flexibly it’s important to track. I use ‘my fitness pal’ to log my meals and it works well. If you log what you eat you’ll be able to see when you’re under / over your required calorie intake. - ➡️ DONT USE IT AS AN EXCUSE TO EAT SHIT 24/7🙄🤦🏻‍♂️. Say you have a calorie goal of 3000 calories, if all of the calories come from Big Mac burgers then you aren’t giving your body the right nutrients and your body will function less efficiently. You can eat foods you like, and you can have treats but make sure you’re getting the right nutrients in (vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids etc. ) and that you’re reaching your calorie goal.

H A P P Y C O A C H - Super proud of this one @all_about_aimee_ - We’ve only been working together for 4 weeks, and she’s now got a holiday and a few miles running to do 😜 but the effort and dedication she’s put in to each of her sessions with me, as well as all the other gym classes, is to be commended. *How I stay motivated* I pack a lot into a day!! It's so important to me to start right 👌🏻 I spend 10 - 20 mins meditating every morning. I use breathing exercises and visualise my goals. ⭐️GYM INTIMIDATION⭐️ . Being new to working out in the gym can be intimidating as I’m sure most people found when starting out If you keep at it you quickly realise that, for the most part, no one is even paying attention to you. Today was the first time I’ve felt uncomfortable in a gym in years. Despite having pretty much chosen which gym I want to join, I thought I’d try out the last one in my area just to be sure. About 30s in I decided I didn’t like it, for some reason this gym was filled with groups of men who had no hesitation whatsoever to just watch you. Being stared at whilst I was trying to figure out where the machines and weights I wanted were was enough to put me off for the rest of my work out. Was starting to wonder if someone had stuck something to my back. Happy rest day😜 . Technically my Friday! I’ve got tomorrow off of work so it’s 4 straight days of painting walls and ceilings 🎨. . I remember hating rest days. I felt so much guilt over not training, until I realised it’s PART of my training. Now I look forward to them and I know my body depends on them. I need the extra sleep and my muscles need the break else my workouts would be negatively impacted. I used to try and push through but nowadays my workouts are longer and more intense, I would eventually end up burning out. Quality over quantity always. Just a little reminder to listen to your body!! . I’ve definitely struggled staying on track this week. I’m tired, not feeling satisfied and the cravings are quite bad. Not bingeing just overeating. Everyone has days or weeks like this and it’s okay, I’m not too bothered, just taking it as it comes. Hitting my protein, smashing my workouts and drinking all the water. Rest Day Today ☑️ Yesterday I trained lower body, and I struggled so bad. I pushed on through but I almost just gave in and went home. I let some negative, doubtful thoughts get into my head and I couldn't focus. The rest is needed today . . On the bright side, my cut is going well. I'm loving my new training plan, and food has been good. Temptations are everywhere but trying not to give in. Cardio can be tedious, but I'm enjoying it all the same. I'm feeling leaner already only 10 days in💪😁 it's nice to see some development in my physique over these last few weeks. I push people out their comfort zone. I’ll also help you find the real the you. Modelling/ posing or just having fun, Photoshoot’s are a way for people to express themselves. They put themselves up for a challenge to see if they can really do what they would like to do. I try my best to create and environment where models can be themselves. I don’t shoot photos for personal kicks, I shoot photos to help bring my clients more of that confident and strong feeling they’re after. Some clients don’t need the help, they want the advice on how to get it as close to perfect as possible. Whoever you are, what ever your style or want from a Photoshoot, don’t let others opinions or thoughts stop you from doing what you want to do. Happiness comes from within, it’s making yourself feel good and having that positive impact on others.
