Only 24 hours until the 2019 Falmouth Road Race! Making sure I’m carbed up and hydrated today so I can finish the race tomorrow. I’ve been dying for pancakes for several weeks now and I finally got it together to make some. I decided to give buckwheat flour a try and I’d say they taste pleasantly earthy. It wasn’t until I had my batter mixed up and ready to go that I realized I don’t have a proper spatula here on the Cape... so I used a wooden spatula-like apparatus which had a very steep learning curve. Most of my pancakes came out mutilated but I managed to get three acceptable ones at the end, as pictured. I ate them plain Jane with just a drizzle of maple syrup, and I sliced a couple of kiwis to have on the side. BANANA BREAD OATMEAL BAKE with vanilla coconut yogurt figs + blueberries 🍌🍞 combine and blend 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 smashed banana, cinnamon, 1/3 cup almond milk, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 egg or 1 chia egg, 1 tbsp flax, then top with the other half of the banana. GooD mOrnInG 🌞 i decided to keep it simple this morning with a classic pb & banana toast for breakfast. it’s been a while since i has it and i forgot how good it is 😋 * * * also something i wanted to touch on is hunger. ever since i’ve gotten back from school i’ve been hungry like CRAZYY. i’ve been more intense in the gym and my workouts have me dripping in sweat 90% of the time so i definitely need the food to refuel myself but its actually crazy how much food i need to refuel 😳 as you know i’m going off to college and am slightly scared of the freshman 15 😖 i’ve been warned to watch how i eat and to keep active and it’s a thought in the back of my head when i reach for another snack. Smoothie saturdayyyy!!😝 But in my reality smoothies all day everyday with these wisdom teeth🤕 I had decided I wasn’t really going to post anything about this because it’s a super common surgery that most people go through but now I’m thinking why the heck not?! So I’ve been in a considerable amount of pain the past couple days and not even the strong medication has not been helping much. Now I like to think of myself having a pretty high pain tolerance, as I am a dancer and we dance through a lot of pain & injuries...but I think this is the first time where I’ve been in pain 24/7. I know it must sound extreme for me to say but this is just my experience. I’ve had hip surgery, ankle surgery and dental implant surgery and those have all been so much easier than this. Well maybe part of the hip surgery was worse 🤷🏼‍♀️ (long story short I found out I was allergic to the strongest pain killer they had me on )!! But anyways I’m just trying to make my way through this and decrease my uncomfortableness as much as possible, which means icing all day long & distracting myself. And lemme tell you its only day 3 I cannot wait to crunch down on some veggies again!!
