My kale portrait by the artist @alexandra mirzayantz whom I have known since we were at college together. Love her and her work!
Until next year @reneerock ! Xo
I have waited impatiently for years to be able to put up one of my favorite Decores Barbares patterns, for which I did a custom color run. It has been sitting in storage waiting for a renovation I kept putting off. So happy to see it finally up on the walls. @nathaliefarmanfarma it was definitely worth the wait!
Love my snuggly Decors Barbares blanket. @nathaliefarmanfarma you should do them again sometime!
I have wanted to see a house called Beauport in Gloucester, Mass for more than 25 years! Thank you @alevasseur1 for arranging and going with us! I think we wore the guides out. That was the best and most interesting afternoon I have had in ages.
Another view of my carriage house studio in this month’s @archdigest - yes with a bed in case I need a nap. More importantly I would like to thank my brilliant curtain makers @alb_newyork who did not throw me out when I brought them a pile of twenty different fabrics and trims to sew these together. I so appreciate all of their hard work and superb skills. And they make delicious chocolate-y iced coffees for me so I don’t need an afternoon nap.
Thank you @archdigest @amytastley and @alevasseur1 for featuring my carriage house studio in the June issue! So happy to see Harriet in your beautiful photos @stephenkentjohnson and to read your great article @shaxriegler and thank you @howardwchristian for helping me make it look pretty. I feel like a pushy pageant mother thrusting my cute little dog in front of the camera : )
But one of many things I’d like to take home with me from the TEFAF show - a small Lucian Freud drawing from @acquavellagalleries
Thank you @adacatlanta for the pretty flowers in my room, for taking such nice care of me, and for having me to speak this morning. And especially thank you @steelemarcoux and everyone at @verandamag for asking me to do our interview discussion. Steele you were great and so nice to meet you! It was like therapy with a captive audience! Also really happy to get to see @thepeakofchic in your hometown. Wish I could have stayed longer to see Atlanta but already back at the airport : (
After breakfast with my own mother, I went to a beautiful memorial service for a friend’s mother, whom I had never gotten to meet. From her pictures, she was a great beauty, and by all accounts as lovely inside as out. Made me think more about how lucky we are to have whatever time we do get with kind and nurturing parents. As my mother gets older, and I tease her relentlessly ( I enjoy asking her if she feels like the woman in the “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” commercials ), I marvel at her fitness, walking a few miles everyday with her friends, and I realize how happy I am to have her both with us and still with it.
