Everyone reading this has technically broken some law today, this week. Colonists love crying about immigration when their very existence is a product of violent, illegal invasion. Pervasive aggressors are the first to cry about aggression. Bullies are cowards with power. UPDATED: This baby’s parents have been working here for 15 years. Working their asses off in a chicken factory in Mississippi. (via @shaunking ) Imagine what it’s like to work in a chicken processing plant in Mississippi to provide a better life for your family? Try. Imagine even a day waking up and doing that work while the president and majority culture paints you and your entire “race” as “lazy”. While you’re literally feeding them and their children. Trump’s ICE stole 600 human beings away from their families today, in one sweep. Ask yourself who this helps? Who this hurts? Pay attention to who gets joy from brown pain. She’s not begging “them”. She’s begging us. —- The regions of origin for immigrant populations residing in the U.S. have dramatically shifted since the passage of the 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act. In 1960, 84% of immigrants living in the U.S. were born in Europe or Canada, while only 6% were from Mexico. Immigrant origins now differ, with Mexicans and other Latin Americans making up about 50% of the U.S. immigrant population. That shift and that shift alone is what turned the violently segregated romanticism of white immigration we grew up with, into this dishonest perverse invasion narrative you’re being sold. White people do illegal shit everyday, on camera, then head home for dinner. Laws change, evolve and devolve everyday. Laws in this country are not inherently moral. They have been flagrantly immoral and inhumane for centuries. It was illegal for me to read or write or eat there or sit here or testify in court, ya know, the place where laws are adjudicated. You love to brutalize and devastate other human beings and then say “but they broke the law”. You and everyone you love “breaks the law” every day. Neither getting away with it nor being lucky are moral accomplishments. Immigration policy ain’t easy. Shouldn’t be gleeful torture porn either.
